Director

Babu Joseph is a seasoned media professional with over 30 years of experience in print and television journalism. He has led the editorial team at a TV channel and managed corporate communications for various MNCs and universities. Currently serving as Director of SH School of Communication, SH College, with 8 departments and 550 students. Notable tie-ups include UNICEF for India's first incubation center and partnerships with the US Consulate for awareness programs.  

Anu Cherian

Assistant Professor, HoD

Anu Cherian, is a senior faculty of SH School of Communication and the team lead for Graphic Design. She holds her MSc. in Visual Communication from the University of Madras, Loyola College - Chennai. She has 14yrs of experience in various fields such as a design education, print production, educational radio, film making and event management. She has been an extensive traveler being educated in Gulf, Pune, Coimbatore and Chennai, and has wide interests and exposure to many fields and cultures. Organizing the 'FTV Fashion Show'- Hari Anand & Patti Stren Collections '09 was a major event in her illustrious event career. She has worked as an RJ at GyanVani Educational Radio in Coimbatore. She is also the associate director and designer of corporate films for Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD- Saudi), Small Industry Development Bank of India (SIDBI- Mumbai), Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC- New Delhi) and Golden Butterflies Children’s Palliative Care (Chennai). As a part of her passion, she has recently ventured into commercial film making as an Assistant Director which will be released soon. She is one of the winners for TYPODAY 2019 Concept Poster Design Series at the International Design event organized by Industrial Design Centre, IIT Powai, Mumbai. With all these expertise, she is a design educator, graphic designer, visual artist, and film maker rolled into one. Her areas of specialization in educational sphere are design foundation, art history, typography, information design, package design, print making, calligraphy, creative crafts and illustration. She has been instrumental in guiding the design students to their dream career as well as receiving international awards. She believes and practices limitless exploration in areas of media and creativity. Her varied passion and her accomplishment traits are her merits. We are proud to have such a charismatic team player at SHSC.

Abin Jose

Faculty (3D Animation )

Mr. Abin Jose, is an adaptive integrated 3D concept artist, talented illustrator and a creative problem solver. He had graduated from ICAT Film School under University of Wales, UK and works across Animation, game, art and digital platforms bringing ideas to life visually. He is able to articulate thoughts and present creative ideas in a clear and concise manner. A former production team member and a professional freelance 3D artist, he has more than 15 years of experience in Animation, VFX and in art field. He has worked in many animation educational zones including Reliance Aims (Art/3D Department, Chennai), Dreamzone ( animator, interior designer, art department ), Arena Animation ( Academic Head), Kites softwares (3D Animator), ASAP (Additional Skill Acquisition Program, Under Media and Education Council of India) as an examiner and at DDUGKY (Central Government program). And taking advanced Stop motion film making techniques for Art,Media Colleges ( Resource Person ) all over India .

Abhishek R

Assistant Professor

Abhishek Radharamanan, is an experienced educator and design professional with over ten years of combined academic and industry experience. He holds a Master’s degree in Visual Communication from SRM Arts and Science College, Chennai.

He currently serves as an Assistant Professor and faculty member of the Design Department at the SH School of Communication, Sacred Heart College. His pedagogy blends hands-on learning, real-world case studies, and interdisciplinary collaboration, equipping students with both creative skills and industry readiness.

Abhishek brings expertise in Branding, Publication Design, UI Design, and Digital media, which informs both his academic and professional practice. As a freelance designer, he has worked with notable clients such as ABAD, De-Fab, and Marriott etc, and has provided design leadership for startups.

Malu Mohan

Ms. Malu Mohan is an academician in the field of multimedia with over 24 years of experience spanning professional education, freelance production and academic administration. Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in nurturing professionals in multimedia industry. She also has designed cutting-edge postgraduate and undergraduate syllabi in multiple University Curriculum.

Bibin Thomas

Assistant Professor (SF)

Bibin Thomas is an accomplished artist and academic professional who graduated with First Rank honors in both his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Painting from the Government College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram. Recognized for his artistic excellence, he has received prestigious scholarships and awards from the Kerala Lalith Kala Akademi and was selected for the Kerala Government's Vajra Jubilee Fellowship Program. Throughout his artistic career, he has actively participated in numerous national and state-level solo and group exhibitions, showcasing his works across diverse platforms and contributing significantly to the contemporary art scene.

Over his career, Bibin has successfully balanced traditional fine arts with media industry experience, working as a Creative Designer at Cafemocha Advertising Agency in 2020 and a Digital Visualizer at Forward Slash Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in 2021 before rising to the rank of Creative Director. Throughout his commercial design career, he has collaborated with an extensive roster of prestigious local and international clients, including the Kerala Culture Department, DC Books, Volkswagen, EVM Group, Phoenix Group, MG (Morris Garages), Škoda, Honda, Mahalakshmi Silks, Bismi, Happy, Chozen Food Products, Diaguncart, Natural Edibles, Ambady Scan Centre, Dr. Rani Menon Eye Clinic, Mossom, Slumber Royale, Fabmodula, Atreya Hospital, Zaecy, MC Luxury, Kapital Plywood, Mots, Gocard, AGL, City Optick, Ablecure Medical Centre, Medical Cure, Royal Glass & Plywoods, and Rings by Annie.

Transitioning his industry expertise into higher education, he currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the field of Design and Animation, having taught at institutions such as St. Joseph College of Communication and PGM College of Arts and Science. He actively contributes to the academic community through participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes and Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) organized by bodies such as the Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) and Ramanujan College, University of Delhi.

Deeply invested in community engagement and cultural development, Bibin has dedicated over a decade to film societies and film festivals while continuing his practice as a fine artist. Since 2015, he has also served as a Fine Arts Teacher and Artist with TAOS (The Art Outreach Society), fostering creativity and art education through community outreach initiatives.

Asmi Rasool Khan

I am an animation and multimedia professional with a strong passion for visual storytelling and digital creativity. My journey in the field includes working as a Junior Video Editor at Vismayasmax Animation, Thiruvananthapuram, and completing an internship as a VFX Compositor at IVFX Studio, Vazhakkala, Ernakulam. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Animation and VFX from Bharathiar University and an M.Sc. in Animation and Multimedia Technology from Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab. My areas of expertise include graphic design, motion graphics, 2D animation, VFX compositing, and video editing. I am committed to nurturing creativity and empowering students with industry-relevant skills in animation and multimedia.

Nandhana P S

SH School of Communication faculty member Nandhana PS has more than two years of experience in the field of animation and design. She previously worked at De Paul Institute of Science and Technology ,Angamaly as an Assistant Professor . She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Animation and Graphic Design and her postgraduate studies in Animation.

Kishore Kumar P

Dean Media Campus (SHSC), Assistant Professor

Kishore Kumar is a Dean, Senior Faculty and Mentor at School of Communication and the team lead for Animation. He has more than 22 years of experience in various fields such as a 2D Traditional Animation, 2D Digital Animation, Cartoon Animation Film Making, Financial Management and Administration.   He holds his MSc. in Visual Communication, Professional Program in Traditional 2D Animation from Toonz Animation India Pvt. Ltd, Technopark - Trivandrum, Diploma in Computer Studies, Diploma in Computer Hardware and Multimedia Course from Arena Multimedia.    Before entering academics, he worked as a 2D Animation Trainer at Toonz Animation Pvt Ltd which is a multinational company engaged in Animation Film Making and Training and a provider of worldwide Animation candidates. He also worked as a Technical 2D Executive at Ants Animation Bangalore and was in the production field at Tirunelveli based 2D animation production unit. During this period he has obtained sufficient skill to manage trainees.

Francis Xavier

Francis Xavier is a faculty member and a VFX compositor at the SH School of Communication. He has more than 10 years of experience in the field of Animation & VFX and has also worked in the film & advertising industry. He has worked in movies & international advertising industry garrard, Bio oil, Samsung, etc. He has also been a part of many advertisements and his other areas of experience.

Belbin P Baby

HoD & Assistant Professor

Mr. Belbin P. Baby is an experienced academic and journalist currently serving as a faculty member at the SH School of Communication. He holds a post graduate degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from Calicut University. His industry experience spans ten years, encompassing roles in a reputable newspaper and publication house, where he was involved in book editing, magazine production, and video production. He continues to actively contribute to the field as a freelance journalist for various magazines and online portals.

Mr. Belbin P. Baby specializes in media history, new media production, political reporting, and business journalism. He has authored several books through his research. These include "Oreyoru John Paul," a tribute to the renowned scriptwriter John Paul, "Chiriyude Godfather," a commemoration of the acclaimed filmmaker Siddique Ismail, published by Chalachithra academy, "Lalitham," a character study of the legendary Malayalam actress KPAC Lalitha, published by DC Books, "Ithivarthaha," a collaborative media history project with students, published by SH College's own publication, and "Varthakala ithuvare," a collaborative effort with prominent Malayalam visual media journalists detailing 40 years of television news history, published by Mathrubhumi Books.

Mr. Belbin P. Baby is a well-known writer and researcher in film and media studies, with his work being published regularly in prominent news portals and magazines. He's expected to continue making significant contributions to the field with his ongoing research and upcoming books.

Shanthi Mathai

Assistant Professor

Shanthi Mathai holds a postgraduate degree in Communication Studies with first rank from Madurai Kamaraj University and also a PG diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication, B.Ed, and UGC NET. She is an enterprising personality who carries with her a work experience of more than twenty three years across the fields of academics, journalism (reporting & editing), research, social marketing, social work and programme coordination with national and international organisations. As an academician, she has presented papers at fourteen national and international conferences as well as published research papers and articles. She has published a poetry book in Malayalam titled, 'Ethirpattu'. She possesses immense experience in organizing conferences, training programs and workshops, and has produced numerous communication materials. She has accumulated good experience with the NGO, Ecumenical Women at the United Nations, New York as a Researcher and Coordinator of Orientation programs to international delegates to the UN program of Commission on Status of Women. She has also demonstrated her skills as a resource person and delegate to various International and National conferences in US, Canada, Taiwan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.

Jeeva K J

Assistant Professor

Ms. Jeeva K. J. is a faculty member in the Department of Cinema and Television. She holds a postgraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism and Video Production from Amrita Viswavidyapeetham and has 10 years of teaching experience. She also served as the Head of the Department of Cinema and Television from 2021 to 2025.

In addition to her academic career, she is an active filmmaker in the Malayalam film industry. Her first feature film, Richter Scale 7.6, has been screened at more than twenty international film festivals and received the Debut Director Award at the Noida International Film Festival in 2018. She made her directorial debut in 2016 with Njaval Pazhangal, a 22-minute short film that portrays how prejudices are imposed on children through social norms and beliefs.

Jeeva is the Co-founder of First Nation Combines Production Company. She has also served as the coordinator of FETE International Film Festivals, Director of the 4th edition of Shades International Short Film Festival, and a selection committee member for the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) 2023 and IDSFFK 2021.

Minna Ann Andrews, Ph.D.

Dr. Minna Ann Andrews
Dr. Minna Ann Andrews is a linguist and educator with a deep-seated passion for the linguistic sense of things — the intuitive, contextual, and cultural layers embedded in language. With over a decade of teaching experience across prestigious institutions in India — including the Indian Naval Academy, Mar Athanasius College, and Sacred Heart College — she brings a rare blend of academic insight and real-world communication expertise to the classroom.

Her doctoral research in English Language Teaching from PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, reflects her commitment to advancing language pedagogy in culturally responsive and student-centered ways. An alumna of Madras Christian College, PSG College, and Government Victoria College, Palakkad, Dr. Andrews is also a certified technical writer from Cognizant Technology Solutions, Chennai.

Dr. Andrews currently serves as Faculty at the SH School of Communication, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara, where she also coordinates the Research Cell. Her teaching interests lie at the intersection of literature, translation, and academic writing, with a growing focus on AI-informed pedagogy. She mentors student research, curates academic festivals, and regularly serves as a resource person for faculty development programmes, civil service coaching, and inclusive education initiatives — particularly in the domains of gender and communication.

Her academic interests extend to questions of gender, power, and representation in literary and media discourses. She has co-authored research on Muslim women's agency in Malabar’s literary landscape and the aesthetics of visual culture in cinema and literature. As both a theorist and a practitioner, she is committed to equipping students with the tools to critically engage with the world through language and storytelling.

Sunaina Yousuf

Sunaina Yousuf is an accomplished academic and media professional with a diverse career in the fields of journalism, communication, and design. Currently serving as a faculty member at SH School of Communication, she imparts her extensive knowledge and experience to students pursuing careers in communication and journalism.

Sunaina holds a postgraduate degree in Communication and Journalism and has earned her UGC-NET qualification. Her academic background is complemented by hands-on experience in the media industry, where she has worked across both print and online journalism platforms, gaining practical insights that she integrates into her classroom.

Beyond her work as a journalist, Sunaina has developed multifaceted expertise across various domains of media and communication, including design and content writing. She has contributed to several design projects, demonstrating her versatility in combining creative and technical skills.

An alumnus of SH School of Communication, Sunaina Yousuf has come full circle, now shaping the next generation of communication professionals. Her blend of academic credentials, practical journalism experience, and creative expertise makes her an invaluable asset.

Jordin Mathew
